As part of Changi Airport Group’s (CAG) vision to innovate and shape the airport of the future, we are launching and scaling various startups, ventures and initiatives (collectively simplified as ‘startups’) to drive breakthrough innovation, elevate customer experience and unlock new revenue streams. 

  

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Finance professional to lead the foundational setup and ongoing financial support for these startups.  This role offers a unique opportunity to partner directly with business leaders and project teams, providing a dedicated “one-stop shop” for all financial matters, with support from Group Finance. 

 

Your role and responsibilities 

  

You will be leading a new function in Finance and creating the foundation of finance policy, process, procedures and finance system for this team to provide dedicated ‘one stop shop’ finance setup and support to the various new business units or subsidiary setup.  

 

Strategic Business Partnering & Structuring 

  • Advise on optimal structuring of new ventures, ensuring alignment with CAG’s strategic direction, governance, and operational efficiency. 

  • Collaborate with startup leads to refine business cases and business models, including profit-sharing frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies. 

  • Support contract and RFP reviews to embed sound financial provisions and commercially viable terms. 

 

Finance Setup & Operational Enablement 

  • Lead the design and implementation of finance policies, processes, systems, and internal controls tailored to each startup’s needs. 

  • Establish accounting, tax, and compliance frameworks for the startups in alignment with Group Finance 

  • Develop data structures and reporting mechanisms to enable performance tracking and financial analysis. 

  • Provide interim hands-on support for financial operations (e.g., closing, finops processing, audits, tax filings, GST, reporting) with a small team until handover to dedicated teams or shared services. 

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and operational efficiencies across ventures.  

 

Financial Analysis & Advisory 

  • Partner with executive teams to develop forecasts and cash flow projections aligned with startup goals. 

  • Advise on working capital management and financial sustainability. 

  • Support identification of growth opportunities and financial risk mitigation strategies. 

 

Your profile 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline  

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Finance, with a track record in setting up finance functions or supporting new business ventures 

  • Experience in financial operations and systems implementation 

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, tax regulations, and compliance frameworks  

  • Commercially savvy with high attention to details and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Independent and resourceful team player who excels in fast-paced, ambiguous environment 

  • Hands-on and adaptable, especially during initial setup phases
