Description: 

As the advisor towards a major airport development project, you will ensure that the objectives for safety, efficiency, sustainability, and value for money are achieved across all phases of planning, design, procurement, and construction. As part of your role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business needs.

 

Your responsibilities will include having to manage procurement of consultants and contractors and drive the project design and execution stages. You will also be responsible for technical oversight, and governance support throughout the project lifecycle. You will guide the consultants and contractor on airport operational requirements, as well as safe management of construction work within terminal/ airport environment. 

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships to ensure project success. Provide excellent support for stakeholders to help them succeed.

 

Risk Management and Problem-Solving:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success. Address and resolve project-related challenges proactively, ensuring the team stays focused on delivering high-quality results.

 

Continuous Improvement:

Champion best practices in project management, ensuring the team is equipped with the tools and methodologies necessary for success. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

Oversee project budgeting, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and expenditures remain within budget. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to manage project-related financial activities.

 

Overall Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Director in advising the client on all aspects of the airport project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities related to project planning, procurement, design management, and delivery oversight.
  • Review consultant and contractor deliverables to ensure alignment with client expectations and project requirements.
  • Assist in managing project governance, risk management, change control, and reporting processes.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain momentum.
  • Monitor schedule, cost, and quality metrics, escalating issues as needed.
  • Contribute to procurement strategy development and contract administration processes.
  • Help integrate operational requirements and sustainability goals into the design and construction phases.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and briefings for senior client leadership.

 

Specific to Project Manager (Mechanical)

  • Manage all mechanical, plumbing and sanitary infrastructure design and infrastructure works with stakeholders and ensure coordination with all trades.
  • Improve sustainability through energy-saving initiatives, proof of concepts, and the replacement of chillers in the T3 main building, including conducting a Green Mark gap analysis and an EPC study for water and air-side evaluations.
  • Testing and commissioning of system to guarantee smooth operations and provide an optimal airport experience for passengers.
  • Review MOS for diversion/ modification/ scheduled shutdown to ensure safety aspects are addressed and a competent person is present during the work.

 

Requirements:

  • Good team player, self-motivated with strong ability to multi-task and able to handle fast-paced projects.
  • Innovative, creative and with good analytical thinking ability, qualitative/ quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Good degree in Engineering/ Architecture/ Building Services.
  • Familiarity with project management of phased construction and addition and alteration works within live operation will be assessed favourably.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
