Title:  Airport Emergency Officer (Specialist) (Feb 2027 Intake)

Function Overview:

Airport Emergency Service is a specialised unit under Changi Airport Group, responsible for providing firefighting, rescue and emergency services at the airports in Singapore. As an AEO Specialist, you will serve as a technical and supervisory specialist, operating advanced emergency vehicles and equipment, and leading teams of fire and rescue officers in emergency and fire fighting operations.

This role bridges frontline emergency response with operational oversight, ensuring high levels of readiness, safety and professionalism.

To set you up for success in the role, you will undergo a 3-week BAFF Fitness Programme (BFP) designed to build your physical fitness and operational readiness. This is followed by a comprehensive 3-month Basic Airport Fire Fighter (BAFF) training programme, where you will gain internationally recognized firefighting skills and aircraft emergency response capabilities aligned with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. You will then attend a 1-month Airport Fire Officer (AFO) course to develop leadership skills for small team tactics. Upon successful completion, you will be deployed to an airport fire station where you can put your skills into practice, gain valuable frontline operational experience, and broaden your exposure through opportunities to work across different airport fire stations and military airbases. This diverse experience will help accelerate your professional growth and build a strong foundation for a rewarding career in airport emergency services.

Job Scope & Tasks

Emergency Response & Operations

•             Operate fire fighting and rescue vehicles, vessels and specialised equipment during emergencies.

•             Lead and support fire fighting and rescue efforts to control fires, protect evacuation paths, and preserve lives and property.

•             Respond to aircraft accidents, aerodrome fires and related emergency situations, ensuring safe, timely and effective action.

Team Supervision & Training

•             Supervise a team of Junior Fire officers during operations and routine duties.

•             Guide and support team members in maintaining operational readiness, training participation and equipment usage standards.

Operational Readiness & Maintenance

•             Conduct regular checks on vehicles, tools and fire fighting equipment to ensure functionality.

•             Participate in drills, exercises and mandatory skills training to maintain specialist level readiness.

Safety, Preparedness & Planning

•             Help plan and implement fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness programmes.

•             Diploma in any discipline

•             Good leadership qualities and ability to supervise team members effectively.

•             Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Operational Requirements

•             Physically and medically fit for emergency duties, with good eyesight and the ability to distinguish major colours (job related requirement for emergency response).

•             Willing to perform shift duties, including nights and weekends, as part of round the clock operations.
